There’s quite a few addons that are made to help or improve your raiding experience and Deadly Boss Mods is one of them. In short, it’s an addon that provides timer bars and warnings for all the important events that happen in a raid boss fight. This is quite useful since boss fights can be overwhelming for many people, and all help will help improve your performance and survivability.
Every raid boss in World of Warcraft has some kind of spell or ability that can totally wipe a raid group if they are not prepared for it and know how to deal with it. Deadly Boss Mods includes all of these events, and will give you proper notice before events happen, as well as show you timers for when they will happen the next time. This has been a required addon for any raider in my guild for a long time now along with Omen and CtRraidAssist/Ora2. The raid warnings are colored and very easy to see and they are configurable, so you can make them less obtrusive if you wish, or make them stand out even more. The timer bars can also be resized easily in the configuration window where you can also choose from a wide variety of styles.![]()
When critical events are about to happen, the screen will start flashing and give a screen shake effect to make sure the user catches on to what’s happening. The addon is totally stand alone and requires no external libraries and such. It loads only on demand, so that it doesn’t hog more memory than needed. It’s coded with optimal performance in mind to make as little use of the CPU and memory as possible. There are some fairly advanced event timers like for the Loatheb fight, which has a healer monitor that allows you to setup healing rotation and see the cooldown for all the healers.![]()
Patch 2.4 introduces a new combat log, and the DBM developer has a version in the works which will work with the new combat log as well with all the new bosses that comes with Sunwell instances. This is still in the works though, and the new version will hopefully be up and running nicely by the time 2.4 hits the live servers.
Users can easily setup timers of their own. An example would be that you put a pizza in the oven and want a reminder in 15-20mins. What better way than to have your very own timer on the screen! You can find Deadly Boss Mods at Curse Gaming as you can with most addons:
