Omen - Updated for 2.4 patch

March 26th, 2008 by mischief

As with a ton of other addons, one of the most used ones, namely Omen, has been updated for the 2.4 patch. One of the hot new features thanks to the improvements to the combat log is that it can track several mobs with the same name. Omen also comes with some new features. Read on for the whole update. You now have several views in Omen. You have the single target view, which is the old one everyone is familiar with. A new view is the AOE view, where you get to see the threat of all the targets you are in combat with so that you can know when to hold back on the AOE. There’s a new Overview mode where you get to see people who are currently high on threat on an enemy you are in combat with, and last you have the Healer/Tank mode which shows each of your tank’s targets and their threat list. There are more updates on the way, and I’ll inform once they are added.

After some initial testing myself, I can say that it looks somewhat buggy. It has a lot more configuration options, but when we enter combat, it doesn’t seem to pickup the tank, and there was some graphic problems initially that went away after clicking a collapse checkbox in the config. Hopefully these bugs will be ironed out soon enough.
