Upcoming 2.4 addon changes

March 21st, 2008 by mischief

Hiya folks!

I’m away taking a well earned Easter holiday, but getting a little online time here and there, so thought I’d toss up a small blog about what’s ahead of us in regard to addons for the upcoming patch. I don’t spend any time on the test realms, so I haven’t been able to look at anything personally, but I’ve been reading up on the great internet to find out what I can, and I’ll try to inform you of what to expect.

Omen is getting a solid facelift. Due to improvements with the new combat log, we can soon be able to track threat on multiple opponents with identical names. There’s also specific views for healers and AOE’ers with the new improvements to omen, and probably other nifty new features as well that will make life for groups and raids easier.

The maintainer of Recount is working to make sure that it will work with the 2.4 patch, a job that has been going for a while now, and testing is under way on the test realms to make sure it’s working perfectly when we finally get the patch. Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) has been under heavy testing since 2.4 hit the test realms and hopefully all will be in place soon.

Expect to see more updates in the coming week as I return from holiday. Cheers!
